Material Guardian, published by Welders Helper, is a free, local-first receiving inspection app for shop and field receiving workflows.
Jobs, receiving reports, photos, scans, signatures, settings, and exported packet files stay on your device unless you intentionally export or share them. The current app does not require an account or subscription.

What stays on your device
Job content, draft reports, photos, scans, signatures, and exported packets are stored locally on your device in the current release. Cross-device cloud file sync and cloud file recovery are planned for a later opt-in upgrade and are not part of the current release behavior.
No Material Guardian account or backend
The current app does not create a Material Guardian account, collect an email address, send authentication codes, manage organization seats, verify purchases, or send entitlement data to a Material Guardian server.
Account records created by older releases are being deleted as the former hosted service is retired.
Camera, scanning, and exports
The app may request camera or document-scanning access only when you choose to capture material photos or scan MTR/CoC documents. Exported files are written to app storage and may also be written to a device-accessible folder such as Downloads/MaterialGuardian when you export packets.
Sharing
Material Guardian does not automatically publish your reports or media. Files are shared only when you explicitly choose an export or system share destination.
Third-party services
The Material Guardian app does not use third-party analytics or ad tracking. It has no subscription, authentication-email, hosted database, or account-backend provider. Google Play or Apple may process normal store and installation information under their own policies.
Security
Files that stay on your device are subject to your device's security settings and protections. Use a device passcode and handle exported packets according to your organization's requirements.
Retention and deletion
Local jobs, reports, photos, scans, signatures, settings, and exported files remain on the device until you delete them, uninstall the app, or clear app data. Platform backup behavior depends on your operating-system and account settings.
